Wilshire Grand Center is a 1,099-foot skyscraper in the Financial District of Downtown Los Angeles, California, and is the tallest building in Los Angeles. The building houses a mixed-use hotel, retail, observation decks, shopping malls, and office complex. Construction of the Wilshire Grand greatly contributed to the revitalization of downtown Los Angeles and the surrounding area.
The Wilshire Grand Redevelopment Project included demolition of the original 1,200,000 square foot, 60-year-old hotel, and construction of a 73-story building containing 20 floors of Class A office space (400,000 square feet) and 42 floors of four-star hospitality with 900 guestrooms. The 400,000 square feet of podium includes ballrooms, meeting rooms, retail and below-grade parking for 1,250 cars. Significant features include the 70th-floor sky lobby along with a signature observatory, sky pool deck, and restaurants.
